What Customers Say About NASCAR 2008:

This is not a game for the average driver. I have both the 08 and 09 games and I do like the lay out and the caracteristics of the 08 game just a little better. This game will give you an all new respect for the real drivers. Even the beginner setting are more then a handful for me.

do not buy this game and get 09 because it has the old career mode where u start in truck and wsork your way up to cup.let me imply again the 08 career mode is reely bad.EA all ur sports games r good accept 4 this one.very bad game but it is fun to to turn of traction control and ABS and spin at daytona. this game is fun on superspeedways but the rest stink.for one thing the new career mode is lkame the old fight to the top career mode was way better. also the breaking help even on high barely works. another problem is there is no make and model on trucks or COTS.

Nashville, Indianapolis Raceway Park, and others that they have actually included in previous games. All in all this game is fun and unless you are a diehard fan like I am these little things shouldn't bother you. They all pretty much look like chevy's top me so when your driving for lets say Roush Racing it looks like your driving a Chevy. First off I the biggest thing for me was the fact that all of the COT cars look EXACTLY the same. Overall the game is really good. I am a big NASCAR fan and I was really excited to get this game. There are, however, a few minor things that I would have liked better. Another thing that I would have liked was the addition of some of the Busch specific tracks, i.e.

The trucks all look the same, regardless of manufacturer. Rules are very strict.just a little contact (due to the difficult handling) and you get black flagged and put to the back. The old cars look like their rear counterparts, the COTs look nothing like the real COTs. I'm starting to wish that I had waited for the 09 game, now.maybe I'll just play the 07 game for another year.

No 2 player option makes it hard to enjoy. NO 2 player, NO team control, NO shared draft, NO intimidator. If you spin out, you're automatically put to the back (rough driving). All the COTs have a huge BLANK spot on the rear bumper.I guess it's too hard for EA to add the proper "DODGE" and "FORD" to the rear bumper of the COT. This is NOTHING like the 02-07 NASCAR games, it's completely different. Not many drivers available in Truck or Busch/National series, lots of drivers missing in Cup (Carl Edwards)., and the cars don't look very realistic. There on the old car. Not much for alternate paint schemes, very few.

I've adjusted the car all the way to the "Tight" side and still had it act loose. I have several of the NASCAR X Box games, and I got a new XBOX360 just to play this game, with the COT and the new drivers/lineup. The COT versions all have the same headlights/grille, just different paint/graphics. These cars are HARD to drive, driving assists don't do much, help VERY little.

With only two settings to adjust (Linearity and Sensitivity), any methods of controlling the car are futile. I would recommend Dirt or Forza for some decent racing action on the 360. To maintain yourself behind another car in order to draft air off them is excruciatingly difficult. which is important for us nascar fans. and most EA titles for that matter.

There seems to be a good amount of control over your car's setup (wedge, spoiler, tires, etc). I've tried with my controller and my racing wheel to little avail. A slight turn will run you right into the retaining wall or another vehicle. EA is becoming quite synonymous for poor quality games. The Good: The interface and graphics are very pretty.

Graphics are very pretty. The Bad: There are only two controls for setting up your controller/wheel.The Ugly: The game is almost completely unplayable. You'll find that the slightest movement to counter steer will throw your vehicle out of control. Conclusion: Unless you're into sadomasochism or feel the need to challenge your inner Buddha with a hair pulling experience, I would avoid this game.
